² Thank you, Colonel Griffith J. Griffith  ²

February 11, 2006

Colonel Griffith J. Griffith owned the Rancho Los Feliz. In 1896 he donated much of the land

to the city of Los Angeles, which give Los Angeles the largest municipal park in the world.

We like Mr. Griffith, because his park has a train and a carousel and a great playground!

This morning we drove across town to Mr. Griffith's park.

We climbed onto the steam train...

and headed off down the track...

CHOO CHOO!

Next we headed over the carousel. When Alex, from across the park, heard the

carousel's organ playing he broke into a run and raced up the hill.

We climbed aboard horses and off we went!

Hooray for the Cowboys & Cowgirls of Griffith's Park!

(Jeremy decided his horse's name was Jack the Horse)

And then it was time for us to head over to Mr. Griffith's playground...

Alex told us he was driving his train to Paris.

Jeremy just rocketed back & forth while giggling and laughing.

HOORAY for Mr. Griffith!
